when there's no sled, get creative

Beautiful, fresh snow is falling today, and I can't resist sledding when it's so wonderful outside, so I convinced the kids to put their snow pants on and come out with me. We got outside and realized we lent 2 of the 3 sleds to a friend, which was slightly problematic since there were four of us wanting to sled.

Enter creativity. Ever tried sledding with a cookie sheet?

Note: a cookie sheet appears a lot smaller when you pull it out of the cupboard and see it as a sled...I didn't try it {a broken tailbone is not my idea of adventure}, but Cady and Levi did. Try to imagine America's-Funniest-Home-Videos-kind of funny.

The appeal of a cookie sheet sled is its spontaneity. Put too much weight on one side or the other, and it'll stop right there and dump you off before you have a chance to realize you're sliding down the hill on your knees minus a sled, or, uh, cookie sheet.

I would highly recommend it; although, I never did it...so maybe I would just recommend watching someone else try.
