Self-Confidence Report #1

Best shopping advice I've heard:
1. Don't buy it unless you LOVE it. Love, not like.

***

Went shopping on Saturday with my mom and sister. Normally I'll load my arms up with things to try on and end up leaving the store with {maybe} one thing. This is a good thing because I usually manage to keep the spending to an acceptable limit.

It's mostly good, except that I usually am in the dressing room making piles of the clothes I try on, and it's typically something like this:

Definitely no. Or doesn't fit/not *fill blank with name of beautiful celebrity* enough.
Maybe. Or I could probably alter it to fit better.../I like it but *fill blank with name of beautiful celebrity* doesn't wear things like this.
Oh yeah! Or love it love it love it!

This shopping trip I threw that out the window. Well, I tried at least. I tried to find things that I really loved because I thought they were cute, not because ___ wore something like it. I cleaned out my closet a while ago, and most of the clothes I got rid of were clothes that I had only worn once.

Sad, very sad.

Moral of this story {so you don't mistake me for a shallow person who blogs about shopping}: Even the little things contribute to self-confidence. The little things like shopping for myself, my style, searching for things I adore.

Sounds like things are going well, which makes me happy for you. Keep working at it! I'll watch jealously from the sidelines.

Wait. Why are you watching jealously?
