This blog is an experiment.

The only blogs I follow are done by women with darling little families to talk about or businesses to promote. So far, I don't have either, but it's also good writing practice.

I'm going into print journalism and besides writing, experience with online technology is an imperative skill for the field. So I plan on keeping this blog (mostly for myself, but hopefully I can come up with posts to interest some sort of audience), and succumbing to the twitter movement...I tried to hold out.

Why are blogs so entertaining to read? My sister and I can read blogs of people we don't even know for hours--we start with a family member or friend, then click on one of their friends, and one of their friends...For some reason it's incredibly absorbing. We love to read about the funny thing someone's child said the other day or the romantic date someone's husband thought up. As I said before, I don't have a husband, kids, or a career.

But my single life is quite interesting.
